About Hormocenta

The name HORMOCENTA and HORMOCENTA beauty care have a long-standing tradition. Generations of women have trusted this brand and maintained their beauty with HORMOCENTA products. Originally conceived for skincare for all ages, over the years HORMOCENTA has become a specialist for the needs of more mature skin.

In 1954, the company was founded as Hygiena Institut Thober & Thiele. Two years later, in 1956, it changed its name to HORMOCENTA Hygiena Thober KG. Under its management, the beauty care products turned into the well-known and popular HORMOCENTA brand.

1968 and 1972 witnessed the broadcasting of the legendary HORMOCENTA TV commercials in Germany with the unforgettable Marika Rökk – “HORMOCENTA makes you young!” The commercials were not only highly popular, but also attained cult status. Even today, the name Marika Rökk is positively associated with the HORMOCENTA brand.

As of January 1, 2010, there will be a change of licensee. Henceforth, HORMOCENTA KOSMETIK GmbH, which is based in Hamburg and Berlin, will be responsible for the beauty of mature skin. At the start of the new year, HORMOCENTA KOSMETIK GmbH is launching a new care range. This combines proven ingredients, such as vitamins A and E, provitamin B5, and precious plant oils, with a new plant active ingredient complex of red clover, black cohosh, isoflavones, and further bioactive plant substances.

The new HORMOCENTA care range is the next chapter in the success story of the HORMOCENTA brand.
